Chris Bancroft (Dalston)
About the Therapist
I am an integrative therapist, specialising in Relational Transactional Analysis (TA), which means that I bring together all the different aspects of my training and experience to find the best way of working with each individual.
I offer reflective and supportive clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists who are registered with UKCP or BACP, which I conduct through an intersectional lens. I also support Transactional Analysis (TA), humanistic and integrative trainees through their psychotherapy training.

Your mental and emotional well-being is precious, so it is vital that you go to a trained and qualified therapist who is registered with a professional body.
I have an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and a Clinical Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Metanoia Institute. I also have a Certificate in Relationship, Sex and Sexuality Therapy, delivered by Jonathan Lake, PTSTA
I am a European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA)Â Certified Transactional Analyst.Â
I qualified as an intersectional Clinical Supervisor with TA East.
I am a registered and accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). UKCP membership no. 2011182696.
I am clinically supervised in all the clinical work I undertake.
My roots in Relational TA combine Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy, which can be used to understand and change unhelpful patterns of thinking. In practice, that means that I foster a more equal relationship between us, so if there’s something you’re not happy with or disagree with, you can tell me and explore it together. I believe the single most important aspect of successful therapy is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. I therefore invite you to come as you are so we can talk comfortably. I can help you make better sense of your experiences, thoughts and feelings. Together we can discover meanings, recognise patterns, and explore your options.
I apply an intersectional lens to clinical supervision, which means I see therapy work not only taking place between individuals but also within systems of power, privilege, oppression, culture, and identity, and I actively explore how these shape the therapeutic and supervisory relationships. I believe that mutuality, radical openness, and an authentic relationship are essential to empowering and challenging therapists in their professional and personal development.
