City Centre Therapy
About the Therapist
Manchester boasts one of the most vibrant queer communities in the North of England. At City Centre Therapy, a significant number of our team members are proud participants in this community, ensuring we are uniquely equipped to understand and meet your individual needs. We acknowledge that sharing an identity isn't sufficient on its own. Therefore, we are dedicated to regularly updating our knowledge with the latest understandings and addressing the challenges faced within our community. You have the option to work with a therapist who identifies as part of the LGBTQIA+ community by reading their bios. If they disclose an LGBTQIA+ identity, you can be assured that you will be working with someone who appreciates your experiences from the inside. The advantage of this is significant: you will not find yourself in a heteronormative environment and will feel comfortable using language that is authentic to you. It removes the potential awkwardness of having to 'come out' or the concern about a therapist's personal viewpoints impacting your ability to be open and vulnerable. If you have any questions or would like to converse before selecting your therapist, we are just an email or call away. At City Centre Therapy, your comfort and confidence are at the heart of our practice. Neurodivergence Including ADHD and Autism A growing body of research suggests that between 15-20% of the UK population may be neurodivergent, and the likelihood is that the true figure could be even higher. At City Centre Therapy, we not only understand what it means to be neurodivergent, but some of our therapists identify as such themselves. This insight is crucial because it allows us to truly grasp how your unique mind operates. In a world where medical diagnoses often focus solely on symptoms, the nuanced experiences of neurodivergent individuals can be overlooked. Symptoms are certainly important, particularly for those seeking a diagnosis which we can support

We offer one of the most comprehensive repertoire of therapeutic approaches form CBT, DBT, EMDR, Psychoanalysis, Transactional Analysis (TA) and many more. Our therapists come from diverse backgrounds with a wealth of experience and education. We understand that finding the right therapeutic approach can be complicated, but research shows that the specific approach isn't the most crucial factor in achieving positive outcomes in therapy. We’ve taken this insight and combined it with innovative technology to ensure you see real progress from your investment. One of the key methods we use is Feedback Informed Therapy (FIT), a technique that’s been around since the 80s but is rarely used in modern practice. We know from the literature that it's the therapeutic relationship that truly drives change, but it can also sometimes hinder progress even when the relationship is positive. Being open and honest about your feelings towards therapy can be tough, even when asked directly. That's why we've made it easier for you. After each session, you'll receive a link to a brief survey where you can share your thoughts and feelings about your session. This feedback helps your therapist adapt and fine-tune their approach to better meet your needs. By being attuned to your feedback, your therapist can ensure that the therapy process is tailored specifically to you. A recent study in 2018 showed that clients using FIT experienced the highest rate of “sudden gains”—a phenomenon where individuals see a significant decrease in symptoms and an increase in well-being and self-esteem between just two sessions. By incorporating this research into our practice, we ensure that the only thing you need to focus on is building a good relationship with your therapist. We'll handle the rest to make sure your therapy works for you. From the moment you first reach out to us, we are dedicated to providing a warm, supportive environment where you can feel comfortable and understood. Our goal is to help you grow and develop, empowering you to achieve the happiness and peace you deserve. So, take the first step towards a brighter future. Contact us today and let us support you on your path to achieving your goals and finding happiness.
