About therapy
The therapy I offer is a relational process. It is a space and time for you to challenge and stretch yourself. A space for you to feel emotionally held whilst we work through your life stressors and relational dynamics together. Therapy provides a confidential safe place that we develop together, to create happier and healthier relationships with yourself and those people around you that you consider important.
Intersectionality is at the heart of how I work
As a transcultural therapist and using a dynamic form of therapy the way I work is to look at what is going on in your world and how this affects your intersectionality and your presenting needs. I work in this way because the therapy room is a microcosm of what is happening in the world. As a transcultural therapist I also notice the diversity between us and how this effects our therapy relationship. This often gives you as the client a space to process at a deeper level how your intersections are affected. I am interested in how aspects such as climate change and the social and political affect your emotional well-being.
Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw in 1989 provided the following definition of intersectionality: "Intersectionality is a metaphor for understanding the ways that multiple forms of inequality or disadvantage sometimes compound themselves and create obstacles that often are not understood among conventional ways of thinking."
As a body and trauma experienced therapist I pay attention to where you feel your emotions in your body. By paying attention to where we feel our emotions and breath in our bodies, this helps us to regulate better as we step into the stress of the outside world.
Through the relational therapy I offer, I will provide a safe space that we will create together, to understand yourself better and where you can feel more confident and empowered in the choices you make.

Today I describe myself as a Relational Body and Trauma Therapist. I use a mixture of models depending on works for you and what you are bringing. I like to work creatively with you integrating body work, creative writing, mindfulness, and art materials - it really depends on what works for you. My core models are:
Intercultural/Transcultural
The approach considers the whole being of the client and also the client’s cultural life experience in the world both past and present.
Psychodynamic
This approach stresses the importance of the unconscious past and present experience that may be shaping current behaviour.
Body Therapy
This is a relational approach pays attention to how your mind, body and soul relate to each other, and how this affects your relationship with yourself and others.
Trauma
This approach will support you in overcoming psychological trauma. A key definition I’ve taken from the Oxford Dictionary of Psychology reads, “Trauma: A physical injury or wound, or a powerful psychological shock that has damaging effects” (2009). If you can cope with the trauma event or situation, even it is a severe threat, it isn’t trauma.

Initial query and meeting
I will aim to respond within 48 hours and offer you a free 20-minute telephone or Zoom introduction meeting as I believe that the relationship is the key to building successful outcome.
My fee for an Initial Meeting is £65, and for an Initial Relationship Meeting is £70-£80. This session usually lasts an hour.
Within this session you will explore if this is the right time for you to start therapy and this is where you can decide if I am the right therapist for you. In most cases I start with two initial sessions before we begin our therapy work together.
