Daniel Lee
About the Therapist
I'm a queer therapist based in East London, working with LGBTQ+ people and men struggling with addiction, shame, self-esteem, anxiety, codependency, and relationship difficulties. Alongside my professional training and experience, I bring lived experience of recovery, queer identity, neurodiversity (ASD) and navigating aspects of stigma and marginalisation within LGBTQ+ communities.
Outside of therapy, I'm a knitter, yarn dyer, former artist, and vintage doll enthusiast. Having spent 13 years living in San Francisco, I've developed a deep appreciation for the diversity and resilience of LGBTQ+ communities and the many different ways we find our way home to ourselves.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and collaborative. I believe that meaningful change happens when we feel safe enough to be seen as we truly are, without judgement, shame, or the need to hide parts of ourselves.
And that meaningful change happens through authentic human connection; that the therapeutic relationship itself can become a powerful vehicle for healing.
I work with warmth, curiosity, and compassion, while also offering gentle challenge where it may be helpful.
I have particular experience working with LGBTQ+ people and men struggling with addiction, shame, self-esteem, anxiety, codependency, relationship difficulties, and the impact of childhood trauma. Before moving into private practice, I worked in a 12-step drug and alcohol rehabilitation service and within substance misuse services in two London men's prisons.
Alongside my professional training, I bring lived experience of recovery, queer identity, and neurodiversity (ASD), which informs my understanding of what it can feel like to navigate the world feeling different, disconnected, or unseen.
