Daniel Fryer
About the Therapist
Initially working in London before moving to Bristol in 2016, I've worked in private practice, private healthcare, occupational health, the NHS and for the Bristol Priory Hospital. I see people both face-to-face and online. I use rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT), positive psychology and hypnotherapy (either separately or combined) to help you deal with your problems and achieve your goals. Offering a safe and non-judgemental space in which you can talk about anything that is affecting you and your life, I offer practically and solution-focussed steps to help you lead a more fulfilling life and can help you with your anxiety issues, confidence and self-esteem, issues around sex, sexuality and intimacy, drug and alcohol problems, anger management, psychosexual dysfunction, sex work, work-related stress and more.
I identify as gay and cisgendered and my preferred pronouns are he/him. I have been in practice for 19 years and first began work by volunteering for a HIV charity that served the local South London LGBTQIA+ and Afro Caribbean communities. In private practice in London my client base was mainly, but not exclusively LGBTQ. I offer a safe and non-judgemental space in which we proactively explore your issues and give you tools and strategies to help you achieve your goals.

I typically practice rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) which is a form of CBT and hypnotherapy (either separately or combined), but also draw upon elements of positive psychology. I am also trained in and am able to provide animal assisted therapy (AAT) and my dog is usual present with me my clinic. I think she's adorable but then, I'm biased.
I'm the author of a self-help title based on REBT and my next book, which is about hypnotherapy and how to use it, is out in Spring 2024.
