Daniel Goldie
About the Therapist
I've worked in mental health services for 14 years. My first degree was in Psychology, this lead me into support work, where I worked in and then managed rehabilitation and recovery services for adults with complex mental health needs and/or learning disability, often coming out of long stints in psychiatric units, prison, or having been sleeping rough.
My experiences working in these services lead me to pursue further part time clinical training in psychotherapy. Alongside my training I was a director of a social housing organisation providing services for people who were socially excluded, after this I worked as a commissioner of mental health services for the NHS and social services in south London. I've been working in private practice for 6 years now and find the work very rewarding.
In addition to my private practice I have worked for two years as a counsellor at London Metropolitan University & two years at The Minster Centre Therapy service.

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist which means I am trained in a range of approaches to psychotherapy and counselling. My approach draws on psychodynamic, attachment based, person centred, existential and body psychotherapies as well as mindfulness and CBT. I continue to develop and grow my knowledge, with current interests including Internal Family Systems, DBT and transpersonal psychotherapy.
What stays constant across all of these models is a focus is on the centrality of relationships in our lives, including our relationships with ourselves, with other people, and with the cultures and systems we are part of.
I see my identification as bisexual and queer as central to my integration and practice as a therapist. It has given me a perspective on the world, a desire to understand and support people, and an insight into minority experience that I might not have otherwise experienced.
