Daniel Hutton Liens
About the Therapist
I’m a British therapist now living in Canada, offering online support to LGBTQ+ adults across Europe. Before moving into private practice, I worked in charities supporting emergency‑service staff and young people in crisis. Over time I realised I connected most naturally with LGBTQ+ clients — people navigating identity, relationships, belonging, and the impact of growing up without enough understanding or affirmation.
My style is steady, warm and straightforward. I aim to offer a space where you don’t have to explain yourself or shrink parts of who you are. Whether you’re dealing with overwhelm, burnout, family dynamics, intimacy, or questions about identity, we’ll move at your pace and focus on what feels genuinely helpful.
My practice is fully online, making therapy accessible to clients across Europe.

I’ve been seeing clients for around six years, originally starting out in a college setting where I supported both staff and students. That early work taught me a lot about identity, pressure, belonging and the ways people learn to cope when they don’t feel fully seen. When I moved to Canada five years ago, I shifted my practice fully online and completed additional training in safe online therapy through the BACP and the Open University.
My training is integrative, drawing on person‑centred and psychodynamic approaches, with some CBT where it’s genuinely useful rather than prescriptive. My style is steady, warm and straightforward. I aim to offer a space where LGBTQ+ clients can speak freely, explore identity and relationships, and make sense of experiences without judgement or pressure.
