About the Therapist
As queer people, we tended to feel different growing up and often continue to do so. Like all humans, we’re affected by fears, stresses, anxieties and difficult feelings, but sometimes it can be difficult to open up about these with a therapist who doesn’t quite ‘get it’.
As a client in therapy myself, I sometimes felt like I had to explain the queer experience from scratch. For me, and maybe for you too, it can sometimes feel a little difficult to feel fully seen and heard by the straight world, especially when trying to open up about tricky topics or aspects of queer life. However I’ve since found that the lived experience and shared understandings of working with a queer therapist can help break down this barrier.
That’s why I love working with LGBTQ+ people or those looking for support around LGBTQ+ issues.

My approach combines the deep, reflective thinking of psychoanalysis with a warm, supportive and collaborative counselling framework. With this approach we can look at your patterns of thinking and acting in relationships with others, explore your relationship with yourself, work on your inner conflicts, and think about how your past experiences might have affected the person you are today.
I’d love for you to get in contact if you are and looking for a therapist who is open, understanding and curious about you and the issues which have brought you to therapy, whether or not they are directly related to your sexual identity. Together we can help make sense of the problems you are facing, develop greater self-understanding and self-acceptance, and nurture your resilience towards life's many challenges.
Though my clients and I share a queer identity, I believe strongly that everyone is different and unique, and that our identities take many forms. So, when we work together I will respect our differences and won’t be applying any theories, systems or concepts. I’m here for you, the real you, and I’m committed to support you in finding your own path.

My fee is £60 per 50 minute session.
It’s important that you feel comfortable talking with me, and for to us to establish whether my approach is right for you. So, before beginning therapy, I offer a free, no-obligation introductory session by phone or online. This usually lasts around 20 minutes and gives us a chance to get to know each other a little bit, and to think about how we might want to work together.
