My approach is to accept you as you are and listen to what you bring to the session. You will dictate where we go and how we proceed, with my guidance but on your terms. My first intention will be for you to feel heard and seen. The outcome I hope for is that you will know you matter, that you are not alone, and that difficult issues can be faced, so that the future is not only less daunting but more fulfilling.

I was trained in an integrative or pluralistic approach, which means I bring aspects of different techniques and approaches to my practice (such as MCBT, person-centred, psychodynamic) according to what we both feel is needed. We will review our progress and change that approach where necessary. You will 'do the work' (yes!) but I will be alongside you.
I have previously worked in other areas of counselling, specifically with the bereaved and survivors of abuse, and have wider experience in other walks of life, including education and financial and consumer advice.
