David Brewster
About the Therapist
Hello, my name is David, and I am a person-centred counsellor offering a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted for who you are.
My work is wide-ranging, supporting people with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, identity, sexuality, LGBTQI+ issues, relationships, student life, work-related concerns, work-life balance and other life challenges or transitions.
As a person-centred therapist, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. You know what it is like to be you, and my role is not to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you with empathy, respect and understanding.
I aim to create a therapeutic relationship where you can express yourself openly and honestly without fear of judgement. Whether you are struggling with a specific issue or simply feel that something in your life needs to change, I am here to listen and support you.
Most importantly, I believe counselling is a collaborative process. We will work together to explore what matters to you, understand your experiences and discover the resources and abilities you already have to help you move forward.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and there may be times when you feel stuck, uncertain or unsure of how to move forward. Counselling can provide an opportunity to pause, reflect and explore what you are experiencing, at your own pace and in a way that feels right for you.
Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviours, helping you develop greater self-awareness and a deeper understanding of yourself. This can create space to recognise your own strengths, build resilience and develop a greater sense of empowerment and confidence when navigating both current and future challenges.
I bring 15 years of experience working within the charity sector, providing counselling and support to service users across a range of organisations. This experience has given me the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of experiences and needs.
