David Lutton (PhD, BPC, MUKCP)
About the Therapist
I’m David Lutton, a psychodynamic psychotherapist working with individuals from all backgrounds, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ clients, men’s mental health, and those navigating identity, relationships, and self-acceptance. I work from a relational and psychoanalytic perspective, helping clients explore how past experiences and unconscious patterns shape their present difficulties. Therapy with me is not about quick fixes or toolkits, but rather a space for deep self-reflection, insight, and emotional growth. I provide therapy in person at 1 Quality Court, London WC2A 1HR, and online for clients across the UK.

I have worked extensively with LGBTQ+ clients, particularly gay men, queer individuals, and those exploring gender identity, relationships, and intimacy. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck—whether in their sense of self, relationships, or emotional world—and want a space where they can explore these difficulties without judgment.
My psychodynamic approach focuses on uncovering unconscious processes—the thoughts, feelings, and relational patterns that shape our emotional experiences. We explore past experiences, relational dynamics, and deep-seated beliefs to help you gain greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and more authentic ways of relating to yourself and others.
I also work with clients navigating internalized shame, coming out, family dynamics, intimacy and attachment, career pressures, and the challenges of queer identity in different social and cultural contexts.
