Dr Alastair Pipkin (Online)
About the Therapist
My name is Dr Alastair Pipkin and I offer evidence-based psychological therapy for LGBTQ+ individuals in person in the South Warwickshire area or online at request. You may be struggling with feeling stuck, stressed out, anxious or low in mood, or perhaps you have noticed patterns of thinking, feeling or behaving that you might be repeating. Therapy is a confidential space for you, and with my experience of working with LGBTQ+ adults I can help you to move forwards. I am focused, collaborative and compassionate in my style, and I don't believe in putting people into boxes. Each session will be focused on you and your needs, and will draw on a range of relevant, evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
As a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist and BABCP-accredited CBT practitioner with additional training and experience of providing supervision, I can also provide specialist LGBTQ+ supervision for psychologists and therapists.

In my career working in both the NHS and the third sector, I have supported people with mild to severe mental health problems, ranging from depression, anxiety, OCD, low self-esteem, psychosis, bipolar and personality disorders. As a qualified Clinical Psychologist and accredited CBT practitioner I take a holistic, person-centred approach to therapy, focusing on your specific context, identity and needs. I spent two years working in a specialist Gender Clinic supporting trans and non-binary adults, including psychological therapy and specialist assessments, consultation and teaching/training other healthcare professionals. More recently, I have provided specialist clinical supervision for qualified mental health professionals, including around LGBTQ+ issues. I am a published author in the field of LGBTQ+ mental health, including publishing the first evaluation of a compassion-focused therapy group for trans and non-binary people, examining sexuality in trans and non-binary people, and LGBTQ+ issues in the workplace.
