My name is Amanda and I'm a queer counselling psychologist. I aim to work with you without judgement and without pathologising your experiences, creating a safe, warm space where you can be yourself, share your experiences and ask any questions you might have. I am highly experienced working with clients from the gender, sexuality and relationship diverse community, including non-monogamy and polyamory. I want to empower you to be in charge of your own therapy and to focus on whatever goals are most important to you. Together we can work to better understand your struggles and find a way for you to move forward.

I currently offer online sessions on Tuesdays.

Experience and approach:

I am trained in person-centred and cognitive behavioural therapy, but I draw on ideas from other approaches such as emotion-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and compassion focused therapy.

I have experience working with a wide range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic health conditions, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I am committed to anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice including working affirmatively with neurodivergent individuals.

Grounded in a humanistic approach, I believe the relationship between the client and the therapist is vital for therapy to be successful and that no 'one-size fits all'. Guided by your preferences and goals, my experience and the psychological research available, we will create a therapeutic experience together that works for your unique person.

My standard session fee is £90 and I offer a concession fee of £70 for students or those on low income. If you have any concerns about being able to afford therapy, please let me know and we can discuss price and frequency.
