Dr Luke Perkins
About the Therapist
I have over 10 years experience working in a variety of mental health settings where I have developed an extensive skill set to work with a variety of difficulties. Through my experience of working in primary and secondary care therapy settings, I am skilled in working with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, OCD, social anxiety and PTSD. Having worked extensively in different physical health settings, I am also skilled in working with difficulties with coming to terms with and learning to live alongside long term health conditions and cognitive impairment.
Additionally, I have gained specialist skills and knowledge in working with issues related to sexual health, HIV and problems with sexual functioning through my roles in sexual health services and in working with issues related to transitions through later life and loss through my work in services for older people. I believe that each individual is the expert in their own lives and has the ability to overcome any diffiuclties they may experience. I provide a warm, non-judgemental approach that seeks to empower you to tap into this ability and learnt to become your own therapist.

All of my sessions are 50 minutes in length and can either be online or face to face in Bromley, South East London depending on your preferences. Throughout our sessions, I will aim to create a safe space in order for you to feel that your experiences are heard and taken seriously.
At your initial consultation, I will gather some information from you in relation to the factors that have brought you to therapy so that we can think about the best way that you can be supported with this.
Throughout the rest of our therapy sessions, I provide a therapeutic approach that is tailored to your individual needs in order to give space to the experiences that you feel are important to talk about and to empower you to develop new tools, perspectives and coping strategies that enable you to overcome any difficulties you are facing.
As a trained Clinical Psychologist, I offer a flexible approach using CBT, ACT, CFT and Systemic therapies to support you with your individual needs. I provide a warm, empathetic space with a focus on empowering you to become your own therapist.
