Dr Ryan B Holmes - Clinical Psychologist
About the Therapist
Predominantly, I draw from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion focused therapy (CFT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) approaches, however, I also try to fit therapy to what works best for you, how you understand yourself and the challenges you're facing, but also where you would like to be by the end of therapy. In my practice, I take a person-centered approach to therapy. In our first session, we'll talk about why you're here and set some goals for our work together. We'll start to build a relationship within which to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. If useful, we might also think about some practical strategies for how to manage the present difficulties.

I trained as a clinical psychologist at the University of East London. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) which certifies doctorate-level training in clinical psychology, allows me to practice under the protected title of 'Clinical Psychologist', and qualifies me for 'Chartered' status with the British Psychological Society. I have extensive experience across inpatient and community mental health services, physical health contexts, and working within specialist services for refugees and asylum seekers and gender identity services. I have therefore worked with a wide spectrum of mental health difficulties and presentations. This includes, but is not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, addiction, psychosis, and more. My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from various therapy modalities to tailor treatment specifically to your unique needs. This includes cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and systemic therapy approaches. I exclusively offer online individual and couple therapy sessions, allowing you to engage in therapy from the comfort and convenience of your own space. Submit an enquiry below for pricing and availability. Please note, I am only working with adults presently.
