Elizabeth Hart
About the Therapist
I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about the things that matter to you. I work face to face in Chelmsford, Romford and Waltham Cross , as well as online.
I specialise in relationship therapy and psychosexual therapy, working with people who want to explore relationships, sex, intimacy, identity and emotional wellbeing. A significant part of my work has involved supporting people who have had negative or distressing sexual experiences, including sexual trauma. I understand that these experiences can affect how we feel about our bodies, sexuality, intimacy, relationships and ourselves, sometimes long after the experiences themselves.
I work affirmatively with LGBTQ+ people and welcome diversity in sexuality, gender, relationship structures and consensual sexual expression. You do not need to educate me about or defend who you are, how you identify or the kind of relationships you have.
Alongside my clinical work, I am co-founder of a sexual wellness brand creating positive and inclusive education around sex. I am passionate about challenging shame and misinformation and believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to develop a healthier and more authentic relationship with sex, intimacy and themselves.

Additional Professional Experience and Approach
My therapeutic practice is informed by systemic, psychodynamic, relational and trauma-informed approaches. My journey started with RELATE, who are the relationship experts so much of my training has been with them.
Alongside my therapeutic qualifications, I hold a BA (Hons) degree in Technical Effects and Art-Based Practices. My creative background informs my use of creative and expressive approaches within therapy, where appropriate, and can offer alternative ways of exploring experiences that may be difficult to put into words.
I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent people and supporting people around relationships, sexuality, intimacy, negative sexual experiences and sexual trauma.

My therapeutic roots are systemic and psychodynamic. I am interested in the ways our relationships, families, early experiences and wider social and cultural worlds shape who we are and how we relate to ourselves and others.
I specialise in relationship therapy and hold a Master's degree in Psychosexual Therapy. I work with individuals and people in relationships around a wide range of concerns, including intimacy, desire, sexual difficulties, communication, connection, sexual confidence and the impact of past experiences on relationships and sexuality.
My approach to this work is trauma-informed, meaning I pay careful attention to safety, choice, autonomy and pacing. I will not expect you to disclose more than you want to or push you to revisit experiences before you feel ready. We can work together to understand the impact of your experiences in a way that feels manageable and appropriate for you.
My approach is relational and collaborative. I don't believe there is one "right" way to have a relationship, experience sexuality or live your life. Instead, I aim to understand your experiences in the context of your life and work alongside you to explore what feels meaningful and authentic for you.
I also have specialist training in neurodiversity and extensive experience of working with neurodivergent people. I recognise that neurodivergence can influence how we communicate, process experiences, understand ourselves and navigate relationships and intimacy. I adapt my approach to the individual rather than expecting you to fit a particular way of being or communicating.
I work with curiosity, openness and without judgement. Consent, autonomy and respect for your individual experience are central to my practice.
