Geoff Sutton
About the Therapist
Hi there, I'm Geoff (he/him).
I work with adults in one-to-one weekly psychotherapy, either in-person or online.
I'm a BACP qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and I will support you wherever you are at today. You may feel stuck, unhappy and need someone to help you figure out what's going on. You may be in a crisis having experienced something acute. Whatever your need and wherever your sessions take us, my job is to make you feel safe and to be alongside you as we go.I believe that in human nature we form our sense of self through early interactions in life, and psychological distress emerges when these relationships are marked by mis-attunement, trauma (emotional, relational, psychological, physical) and social exclusion, among others. I draw from attachment theory, the theory of intersubjectivity, queer theory and object relations to understand the potential origins of distress and the possibilities for healing.

I trained at The Minster Centre in London, the UK’s first integrative counselling and psychotherapy training programme, founded in 1978. It remains one of the UK's most respected institutions, with courses accredited by BACP, UKCP, Middlesex University, and assured by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.
My integrative training embraces both theory and experiential learning, encouraging exploration of the conscious and unconscious, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, alongside personal and cultural history, relationships, and environment
