Georgia Batchelor
About the Therapist
Hello, I'm Georgia. I am a counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in providing empathetic, warm spaces for clients to explore. Whatever it is that's troubling you, whether it's past trauma, current challenges or questions around your identity and place in the world, I aim to provide a space where it's safe enough to be authentically yourself while we explore things together.
I consider my practice to be LGBTQ+ centred, and I strongly believe that sexuality, gender identity, race, social class, disability or other social identities are interwoven (often in a very complex way) with our mental wellbeing. Whoever you are, and whatever it is that's troubling you, I will meet you with curiosity and kindness.Â

I am an integrative psychotherapist. I work with different styles of counselling, to create an approach that is personalised for you and responsive to your needs. I particularly draw from psychodynamic, attachment based, feminist and internal family systems models. This means that we are likely to spend lots of time in sessions talking about your different 'parts' such as internal critic and inner child, as well as the influence of your past on your present, as well as the influence of systems of oppression on your psychological wellbeing.
I have particular experience working with women and LGBTQ+ individuals, especially those with a personality disorder or who might have been told they have 'complex mental health'. I also have plentiful experience working with anxiety and depression, trauma, those who hear voices and those who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Alongside my experience working as a psychotherapist, I have also worked in mental health more broadly within higher education, charities and NHS services.Â
I will work collaboratively with you, but believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to be alongside you to provide compassionate support and a gentle challenge where appropriate to help you unpack things in a warm and non-judgemental space.
