Georgia Dickinson
About the Therapist
I'm Georgia (she/her). I work at the intersection of LGBTQ+ and illness/disability. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am passionate about creating a therapeutic space that feels safe and celebratory for each and every client. I am committed to anti-racist practice and continually challenging my own cultural privilege is a priority. I view professional development as a very important part of my work and therefore take regular training sessions to broaden my knowledge. On top of this, I am an avid reader, and enjoy keeping up to date with latest research. My personal life reflects my counselling approach whereby mindfulness, balance and values based living is my priority. Outside of therapy, I love reading, drinking tea and spending time in nature with my greyhound Luna. I also have a passion for community: I run a sober LGBTQ+ community event in South Birmingham, and facilitate Death Cafes.

I welcome clients from all backgrounds. As an integrative practitioner, I believe that there is no “one size fits all” for counselling, meaning that I draw on different approaches depending on the individual I am working with. This means that I will tailor my approach depending on your needs. All of my work is rooted in mindfulness and compassion. My values are curiosity, compassion and inclusivity. People come to therapy for a variety of reasons; whatever your reasons may be, I will help you to identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I will support you in watering the seeds that will lead to you living the life that you want to live, as the person that you are. This may involve looking into your past, which we will do with a view to a deeper understanding of the present and an ability to move forwards with valued action.
