About the Therapist
My first introduction to the world of counselling was as a client myself. I know from experience that being vulnerable and opening yourself up to somebody can be scary, but the better I understand you the better our work will likely be. My role in making this vulnerability less scary is building a space with you where you feel heard, validated and safe to be vulnerable, knowing that your emotions and perspectives will be met without judgement because you do not need to change to be valued and respected.
I prioritise being authentically myself over being clinical. I believe therapy works best when you can be fully yourself – which means there's space for swearing, sarcasm, challenge, humour, tears, silence, and everything in between. I don’t expect you to filter yourself or use 'therapy-speak' – our work is about authenticity, not performativity.
We are travelling together on your journey of self-exploration and empowerment, and I believe that the dynamics in our relationship can often reflect what happens in external relationships too, so looking at what happens between us can give insight.

Working integratively can mean different things for different therapists. For me it means working from a person-centred foundation - centring you and our therapeutic relationship - but also drawing from a number of other approaches to co-create a unique experience for each client.Â
I incorporate modalities such as psychodynamic theory, transactional analysis (TA) and CBT which each bring something different to the way that we work together.Â
