Gordon McIntosh
About the Therapist
My name is Gordon McIntosh, and I’m a psychodynamic therapist with many years’ experience working with a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns. My practice is grounded in depth work — exploring not only what’s happening now but also the experiences and patterns that shape how we live, desire, play and connect.
I offer a reflective, relational space where you can bring the full spectrum of who you are — sexuality, identity, contradictions, desires, histories and all — without judgement. My approach is warm, direct and thoughtful. I pay close attention to both emotional and embodied experience, recognising that sex, intimacy and identity are often intertwined in complex ways.
I work with adults of all ages, both online and in person. I have particular experience with issues around identity, sexuality, gender, neurodivergence, relationships, and social class. I also work with people exploring queer desire, fetish, kink, polyamory, non-monogamy, alternative intimacies and sexual expression in all its variety.
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing who you are or making you fit a mould — it’s about creating space to know yourself more fully, make sense of what matters to you, and inhabit your own life and desires more freely.

I work from a psychodynamic and relational frame, drawing on Jungian, attachment and embodied perspectives. My practice is queer-affirming, sex-positive, kink-aware and inclusive of non-monogamy and diverse relationship structures. I’m particularly attuned to how sexuality, identity, trauma, class and culture shape our inner worlds. I offer both short- and long-term work, supporting clients to explore and integrate the many layers of their experience.
