Gustav Béen – Online Couples Therapy & Relational Work
About the Therapist
I’m Gustav Béen, and I work at the intersection of relationships and the inner world. People often come to this work when something important feels strained or confusing – closeness has become harder, conflict repeats itself, or emotional distance has grown without clear reasons.
I aim to create a space that is steady, thoughtful, and non-judgmental. Rather than rushing toward solutions, we slow things down enough to see what is actually happening in the moment. This often allows new choices to emerge naturally, without forcing change.
I work affirmatively with LGBTQ+ clients and with people in diverse relationship structures. My role is not to take sides or tell you how to be, but to help you understand your patterns with clarity and support you in relating with more presence and confidence.

My work is informed by research-grounded couples therapy and parts-based approaches to the inner world. With couples, I draw on structured methods that support clearer communication, emotional regulation, and repair after conflict. With individuals, the focus is on understanding internal patterns and how they shape relationships and self-trust.
A central influence in my work is Internal Family Systems (IFS), which views inner conflicts as meaningful responses rather than problems to eliminate. This allows us to approach difficult emotions with curiosity rather than judgment. In couples work, I also integrate the Gottman Method, helping partners recognise predictable interaction patterns and practise new ways of staying connected when emotions run high.
Sessions are experiential and paced carefully. We work with what is happening in real time, supporting steadiness, clarity, and practical integration into daily life.
