Guy Harries
About the Therapist
Hi, I'm Guy, a queer therapist working with LGBTQ+ people and creatives in London and online.
I came to this work partly through my own experience of navigating identity, and I bring that alongside 20 years as a working musician and artist. Many of my clients are in periods of change or uncertainty, around identity, relationships, belonging, or what comes next. I understand that finding a therapist who genuinely gets your life, rather than simply accepts it, makes a real difference.
My approach is integrative, drawing on person-centred and psychodynamic thinking. Sessions are calm, honest and insightful, collaborative rather than prescriptive, with room to go where things actually need to go.
I'm a registered member of the BACP with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of Westminster. I also work as a volunteer counsellor at an LGBT+ charity in London.
Sessions in person at London Bridge and Golders Green, and online.

I am an integrative counsellor (MBACP, PG Dip), working 1-to-1 in person and online. I tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I draw from two main approaches:
- Person-centred counselling, which empowers you to grow and heal at your own pace in a compassionate and non-judgemental environment.
- Psychodynamic counselling, which helps us understand how past experiences may shape your present life and relationships.
- GSRD informed practice - informed by my lived experience within the LGBTQ+ community and the issues and diverse aspects of the people who are part of it
- Creative approaches - can be included in the therapeutic process, drawing on my experience as an arts practitioner, educator and facilitator.
For over 20 years, I worked in music and arts education, where I learned the importance of nurturing each person’s uniqueness and creativity. I bring this same ethos into counselling, supporting you in discovering your own path.
I trained as a counsellor at the University of Westminster (a GSRD, Pink Therapy approved course), graduating with a postgraduate diploma with distinction. I work as a volunteer counsellor at an LGBT+ charity in London. I am also one of the founders of the art+therapy collective Queer Spaces.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and follow their ethical framework for the profession.
