About the Therapist
HI, I'M HAMILTON (HE/THEY)
I’m a queer, non-binary and neurodivergent person-centred therapist, goldendoodle parent and musical theatre fan. I bring all of who I am to my work and I’ll meet you just as you are too. You can have sessions with me online, and in room in Wimbledon (SW19) and Clapham (SW4).
With 10 years experience as a therapist, I first worked in fast-paced sectors like the arts, education and corporate worlds. I also train and write in the counselling field.

NO NEED TO CENSOR, MASK OR HIDE YOURSELF
As LGBTQIA+ folk we can get all too used to being misunderstood, judged, invalidated and even erased. You don't want that to happen in your therapy. Whether you're newly discovering your identity or have been out for some time facing ongoing challenges, as a gay and queer counsellor, I will offer you a safe space where you don't need to educate me and will be celebrated for being your unapologetic authentic self.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Expect LGBTQIA+ and queer informed and affirmative therapy rooted in humanity, connection, and acceptance. All parts of you are welcome and I’ll be compassionate, engaged, and alongside you as we navigate your challenges at your pace, finding ways forward that work for you. Clients describe my gentle, person-centred approach as supportive, grounded, powerful and often life-changing.
I always aim to celebrate your uniqueness within an intersectional approach to therapy. Our work may include how your identities, culture, background and beliefs show up in your life, and perhaps impact or inform your challenges and experiences.
We will respond to what you personally find helpful. So, alongside talking therapy, optionally we can use creative approaches, breathing and grounding exercises, and explore concepts which may empower you, deepen insight and effect change.

OTHER SPECIALISMS
RELATIONSHIP & DATING STRUGGLES
Relationships can lift us up with excitement and connection—but when they’re not working, they can bring stress and pain. LGBTQIA+ dating and relationships often come with unique challenges. Internalised expectations - from society and within our communities - can affect how we connect, express our needs, and view ourselves. Whether you're struggling within monogamy, open or poly dynamics, situationships, hookups, or feel unsure what feels right for you, I can help. I offer an inclusive space to unpack what’s going on, heal old wounds, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships - whatever form they take, and always without judgment.

HIGH PERFORMERS WANTING TO FIND PEACE
You have achieved a lot in your career but struggle behind closed doors. For queer clients, high achievement can sometimes mask early messages of “not being enough” or needing to over-compensate in unsafe spaces. The stress of keeping up, pleasing others or striving for perfection can feel overwhelming. It may be causing your true desires to get lost under high standards, be burning you out and also be impacting your wider life and relationships. I offer space to understand how this all shows up, and find more helpful and healthy ways forwards.

CREATIVE COUNSELLING
Unleashing your creativity is optional, but can open up exciting ways to explore and express yourself. In our sessions we can use therapeutic cards, photos, objects in the sand, doodling, drawing, creative writing, or metaphors. These creative approaches are backed by neuroscience and a strong evidence base, making them powerful therapeutic tools .
