Hannah Jackson
About the Therapist
I'm Hannah (she/her) a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Manchester. I came to train in therapy after years of struggling with my own shame and low self-esteem. Through my own personal therapy, I found newfound resilience and ways of coping that I hadn't imagined possible. Now, I am passionate about empowering individuals in their own journeys of self-exploration and acceptance, supporting them towards healing and achieving their full potential.Â

My approach to therapyÂ
I am a person-centred therapist, believing that every individual is unique, and the expert in their own lives. I work in a non-directive way which means you'll take the lead, but this doesn't mean that I'll have a passive role. We'll work collaboratively, and our relationship will be one of the most important aspects of our work together.
Alongside the person-centred approach, I can work with cognitive-behavioural techniques, which can be useful for clients who feel they would benefit from a more practical approach to tackling their issues. At the start of therapy, we will work together to agree on the best approach for you.
Experience
Alongside my own practice, I have extensive experience with LGBTQIA+ clients and am currently a volunteer therapist with the LGBT Foundation in Manchester. I also have experience as a listening volunteer with the Samaritans.
