About the Therapist
I am a non-binary, LGBTQ+ affirmative psychodynamic therapist. I am passionate about making informed, non-judgemental therapy accessible for trans and queer communities.
The way that I work focuses on the connections between our past and present relationships and experiences. By exploring how we have become stuck in unhelpful patterns, psychodynamic therapy can help us to recover a sense of choice and freedom in the way that we move through the world and relate to others. My approach also takes account of the importance of identity and cultural background in shaping our experience, and the intersections of oppression and mental health.

The psychodynamic approach
I am an experienced, BACP-registered psychodynamic therapist based in Dalston, East London, with experience counselling people facing a wide range of challenges. You may be seeking therapy because you are struggling with anxiety, low mood or a feeling of 'stuckness'; because of challenges in your relationships with others; or to gain a better understanding of yourself and your identity.
Psychodynamic therapy provides a space to explore the roots of our present difficulties and to understand how we may have become stuck in unhelpful patterns of thinking and relating. This can help you to recover a sense of choice and freedom in the way that you move through the world. I offer a reflective space that is thoughtful, containing and safe.
I am non-judgmental and non-directive, and I work affirmatively with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity. My role is to help you uncover the knowledge that you carry, and it is what you bring to the sessions that will guide the focus of our work.
LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy
You might be looking for an LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist because you would like a space in which to safely explore your sexuality or gender identity, or help in navigating challenges in your relationships.
Equally, you may be seeking therapy for reasons unrelated to your gender or sexuality, but need to know that your therapist understands and accepts these fundamental aspects of your life. I will not assume that gender or sexual identity should form the focus of our therapeutic work, but will be guided by what you bring to our sessions.
My affirmative approach means that I do not see your gender identity, sexuality or relationship style as things that need treating or changing. I have experience of working within LGBTQIA communities and specialist training in working alongside trans and gender diverse clients.

My approach
The way that I work is rooted in the psychodynamic approach. This means that I am interested in the connections between our past and present relationships and experiences, and the impact of unconscious processes such as dreams and buried memories. In exploring these unconscious processes, psychodynamic therapy can help you to uncover parts of yourself and your emotional world that you are less aware of, relieving feelings of stuckness or loss of control.
The therapeutic relationship – what goes on between you and me in the room – is also an important part of our work together. By being curious about what is happening in the 'here and now', we can find out more together about your inner world and your relationship patterns.
My approach takes account of the importance of identity and cultural background in shaping our experience, and the intersections of oppression and mental health. I work affirmatively with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity (GSRD) including trans and queer identities, non-monogamy and other non-normative relationship styles.
I am non-judgmental and non-directive. My role is to help you uncover the knowledge that you carry, and it is what you bring to the sessions that will guide the focus of our work.

Low-cost therapy spaces
*The waiting list for low-cost spaces is currently closed*
I offer a number of low-cost, affordable spaces for people on low income who do not have access to savings or intergenerational wealth. These spaces are prioritised for trans and gender diverse clients.
“Affordable” means something different for everyone, so I do not set a fixed fee for low-cost spaces. When we begin working together, we will agree on a session rate that is affordable and sustainable for you.
