About the Therapist
I am deeply committed to providing a safe and welcoming space for those identifying as LGBTQIA+ who may have been negatively impacted by experiences of homophobia/transphobia, stigma, discrimination, social isolation, exclusion and rejection to name a few. In our work I will offer tools of compassionate enquiry for you to explore your feelings, face past traumas and develop more self-acceptance.Â
I personally identify as queer. Though I was assigned female at birth my gender identity is non-binary as this accurately encompasses the full range of my experience of gender.
I have completed a diploma in Anti-Discriminatory Therapeutic Practice, which has deepened my understanding of cultural diversity and enhanced my ability to work effectively with people from all backgrounds. In our work my aim is to provide a space to explore all aspects of your identity and in particular how these different parts all combine to create your unique self.

I base my practice in a person-centred approach which means the focus will be on the thoughts, feelings and experiences which you as the client choose to bring. I also draw from Mindfulness based practices and CBT as this can enable you to deal more effectively with current issues by exploring the relationship between your thoughts, emotions and behaviour and consider meaningful alternatives. The main aim is to facilitate awareness and help you build the skills to make positive changes in your life.
I have also completed training in Trauma-informed practice so I can provide a safe, supportive space for clients who may be suffering the effects of trauma. In healing trauma we will work at a pace that feels right for you. As you become free from entrenched ways of reacting you will find more choice in your responses to life.Â
