Jo Russell
About the Therapist
My name is Joanna Russell, and I am a counsellor working in the west of Glasgow. We all need someone to talk to. We need someone who can help us see things from a different perspective, someone who is not a part of our everyday life, and someone who respects confidence. “Temenos” is a Greek word meaning “sacred space”. It refers to a space set apart for a specific purpose; a space with boundaries around it. My goal is to provide just such a space for every one of my clients – space to explore things that are difficult to talk about.

I am an experienced therapist, counsellor, trainer and supervisor. I first qualified in 2003, and then completed an MSc in Counselling Studies (Advanced Practice) at Edinburgh University in 2009; I have since completed the postgraduate diploma in working with Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity (Pink Therapy). I am Senior Accredited with the NCPS; I am an Advanced Accredited GSRD Therapist (Pink Therapy) and Clinical Associate of Pink Therapy. I have particular interests in sexuality and in spirituality; however, I work with clients of all faiths and none. I have also lived and worked overseas, and am very experienced working with cultural differences.
