JoJo Blythen
About the Therapist
Hi, I’m JoJo — a person-centred counsellor based in Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes. I offer in-person sessions, online therapy, and walking therapy, supporting clients aged 14+.
My practice is grounded in a warm, relational, and deeply neuro-affirming approach. I work extensively with the neuroqueer community, including people who are autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, or exploring their neurodivergence alongside their queer identity. My space is inclusive of all LGBTQIA+ identities, relationship structures, and the many ways people experience gender, sexuality, and self.
I support clients with a wide range of experiences, including anxiety, depression, low mood, body image struggles, disordered eating, self-harm, identity exploration, sexuality and gender expression, coming out, minority stress, and the complexities of blended or non-traditional family systems.
My therapeutic style centres on relationship and safety. I work collaboratively, with curiosity and compassion, paying close attention to the pace that feels supportive for your nervous system. Rather than assuming or directing, I aim to meet you where you are — acknowledging the impacts of systemic oppression, late-realised neurodivergence, internalised shame, and the very real need for spaces where you don’t have to explain or dilute who you are.
Whether you’re neuroqueer, questioning, navigating transitions, or seeking a therapist who genuinely understands intersectional identities, you’ll find this is a space where your experience is affirmed, respected, and held with care.

I am an experienced counsellor, therapist, and ADHD Assessor, with over five years of dedicated work within LGBTQIA+ and neuroqueer communities. My background spans in-person therapy, online counselling, and walking therapy, supporting individuals aged 14 and above through a wide range of emotional, relational, and identity-based experiences.
My approach is person-centred at its core: warm, relational, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through genuine connection. I pay close attention to the pace that feels right for you — creating a space where you don’t need to mask, perform, minimise, or educate. Instead, you are invited to arrive just as you are.
I work extensively with people exploring or living within neurodiversity, particularly those navigating ADHD, Autism, or AuDHD. My practice is deeply neuro-affirming, recognising the unique sensory, emotional, and relational needs that often accompany neurodivergent lived experience. I aim to attune to your nervous system, communication style, and processing preferences, adapting the work to support you rather than the other way around.
My therapeutic work also centres LGBTQIA+ identities, relationships, and experiences. I strive to offer a space where queer, trans, gender-expansive, and questioning people feel truly understood — without needing to justify or explain the parts of themselves that the world often misunderstands. I hold an awareness of minority stress, internalised shame, and the lived impact of navigating systems that are not built for everyone.
I bring my own lived experience as a neurodivergent and queer person, which informs my practice in an embodied and empathic way. While I never make the work about me, this perspective helps create a therapeutic space where authenticity, difference, and complexity are not only welcomed but honoured.
At the heart of my work is relationship: building trust, finding the moments of connection that matter, and walking alongside you as we make sense of your inner world together.
