June Allen : Racial Trauma Therapist
About the Therapist
Therapy with me is a collaborative and relational process. I offer a space where you can bring the full truth of your experiences without needing to minimise, explain, or translate your reality. Together we may explore:
• racial trauma and the impact of everyday racism
• the melanated mother wound and intergenerational trauma
• internalised oppression and shame
• family estrangement.
• addiction or compulsive coping behaviours
• grief, loneliness, and loss
• identity, belonging, and self-worth
My work is particularly supportive for Black clients and people of colour who are seeking a therapist who understands the psychological impact of racism and the importance of culturally grounded healing.
Therapy can help you make sense of painful experiences, understand your patterns, and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others that feel more compassionate and empowering.

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and have more than a decade of experience supporting clients through trauma, grief, addiction recovery, and identity exploration.
My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and culturally aware. I draw on a range of therapeutic perspectives including:
• person-centred therapy
• somatic trauma-informed practice
• inner parts work
• recovery frameworks that support healing from compulsive behaviours
I have a particular interest in the impact of racial trauma on the nervous system and self-worth, and I support clients in developing a deeper sense of safety, self-compassion, and emotional regulation.
My work is influenced by both psychological understanding and community-based healing traditions. I believe healing happens not only through insight, but through compassionate witnessing, connection, and learning to relate to ourselves with kindness rather than judgement.

Individual therapy sessions last 50 minutes. My standard fee is £100 per session.
I offer a limited number of concessionary spaces for student therapists and if you receive low income. Please feel free to inquire if this would make therapy more accessible for you. Sessions are currently offered online.
