Katie Evans
About the Therapist
Hi, I’m Katie Evans. I’m an integrative therapist based in Liverpool and currently working online. I began working as a therapist in 2013 starting off working in bereavement before moving over to work in addiction, specifically as the therapist for AfterParty chemsex service in London. Since then I have run my own private practice, originally in Soho before heading back up north. I have spoken and taught across Europe about gender, sexuality and addiction as well as co-authoring the world’s first Chemsex RAR Toolkit to provide safer support for those on probation. I am recognised by NUM and Adult Industry Services as a practitioner for those working in sex work and adult industry professionals. I also hold an advanced accreditation in GSRD therapy and guest lecture on the mental health course at John Moores University. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was involved in the worlds of music and performance, and I use this lived experience to enhance my work. I have had to work on many issues myself and find this has been a useful tool for developing greater empathy and understanding. I’m also a big fan of using pop culture to understand the messaging we receive growing up and the impact it has on us.

I predominantly use a combination of psychodynamic and person-centred therapy. This basically means that I will guide you in exploring your past and unlocking the answers that you already hold within. I believe in empowering you and working together to make the changes or find the understanding that you desire. I am trauma informed which means that I have a deep understanding of the impact of traumatic events, relational and childhood trauma. I do not pathologise and I believe that we are impacted by our experiences. Since day one my practice has always been set up with core value that therapy should be open and available to all without judgement.
