Therapist Directory Listing Category: Psychotherapists and Counsellors
I trained to become a psychotherapist as a second career. I learned about many different theoretical models but settled on a humanistic approach, particularly existential. I am very able to engage with clients, as I value each person as the unique individual that you are.
In between studying Psychotherapy and Counselling, I studied for 2 years for a post graduate diploma in Gender Studies. I believe this was instrumental in showing me different ways in which to work with clients, and in particular to use a more creative approach if required. As a photographer, I was  particularly interested in photo-therapy (Jo Spence) and used various creative tools to facilitate a women’s self help group for 3 years.
I am able to work both online or face to face. I have worked online for some years now, and find that this can be helpful for clients who might not be in the area that I practice.

I have a lot of experience working with a very broad and diverse range of clients, from many different cultures. During the time that therapists worked online, I specialised in working with clients on the ADHD spectrum for over 2 years.
I worked alongside a Psychiatrist and learned to assess for ADHD, to help clients to manage difficulties they might experience with ADHD and to explain various treatments, should they be required.
I am a general Psychotherapist and can work with all adults who present to me. I believe that my lived experiences have shaped me to be the therapist that I am, and enabled me to empathise with many difficulties in life.
