Lili Owen Rowlands
About the Therapist
I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy to adults in Kennington/Camberwell and Waterloo, London, as well as online. I provide in-depth and open-ended help to people who are struggling with issues like: feeling anxious, depressed, sad; struggling with low mood or self-esteem; experiencing grief or loss; struggling to make or sustain good relationships; questioning their gender expression or sexuality. It may also be that there is no specific problem, but a feeling of wanting life to be different somehow. I am currently in training at the Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis, which is accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy.Â
I work in a psychoanalytic way, which means that during treatment, I will listen closely and without judgement, following your words, memories and dreams to help bring into focus what has been difficult and what the unconscious reasons for these difficulties may be. Central to my practice is an awareness of how social power shapes experience and suffering.
My background is in helping adults and young people who have experienced sexual violence and abuse. I worked for nearly a decade in Rape Crisis Centres. I am also an academic with a special interest in gender, sexuality and feminism.Â
I recommend that we begin with a free introductory call where we can discuss what has led you to therapy, my availability and how we can work together.
