About the Therapist
I am a qualified and empathic UKCP psychotherapist working in Islington, Hackney, and online.
As a queer, trans, non-binary, non-monogamous and neurodivergent person, I understand what it can feel like to be othered, marginalised, or met with prejudice. These lived experiences inform and deepen my therapeutic practice. I work with people from across the LGBTQ+ community, as well as those from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, with disabilities, varied socio-economic experiences, and neurodivergence.
I offer a space away from judgement for you to explore any difficulties you might be experiencing. This could be anything from anxiety, depression, questioning your gender, grief relationship difficulties, stress or overwhelm to name a few.
I am a Person-Centred therapist and at the heart of this approach is a radical departure from the mainstream. In a culture crowded with ‘experts’ offering techniques, solutions and diagnoses, it’s easy to be told what is supposedly wrong with you and how you should fix it. Person-Centred psychotherapy takes a different stance. Rather than applying theories or assumptions to your experience, I am committed to understanding how it is to be you.
This is fundamentally different from many traditional models of therapy or treatment, where the practitioner leads and the client follows. My role is not to direct you, diagnose you, or decide where you should go. You set the pace. When something feels too much, we won’t push into it. If you want a gentle nudge, you can ask for it. But your process leads, always. I will be alongside you, with you, attentive, non-judgemental, and deeply curious about your lived experience.

At the core of my approach is the belief that I as a therapist am not an 'expert' in your life and experience, only you are. What this means in practice is that I will be alongside you, with you, to help explore, figure out, navigate or change things as you see fit. I will not be making judgements about what I think you 'should' be doing or why. For me, therapy is a place to jointly discover and work out whatever you are looking for. This may sound daunting, understandably so, but you would not be alone in it.
Experience of different client groups and issues:
Most of my clients are trans and non-binary people. Many of these clients are also neurodivergent and non-monogamous. I have extensive experience working within the queer community. Many clients find it a relief and useful to not have to explain details about their life and are able to focus of the more significant things they want to bring.Â
