About the Therapist
You've spent your life editing yourself for other people's comfort. Performing straight, performing gender-conforming, performing whatever version kept you safe. Maybe you became the accommodating one, the one who never makes waves, the one who's learned to anticipate what others need before they even ask.
I work with people who are exhausted by that performance - especially men who've been taught to keep everything locked away, and anyone who's become expert at surviving by being exactly what others need them to be. I have particular experience working with survivors of conversion therapy and religious trauma, understanding the complex layers of shame and adaptation that develop when your fundamental self has been treated as something to be fixed.
I also work with people questioning their sexuality, those in polyamorous or non-monogamous relationships, and anyone whose identity doesn't fit conventional categories. I have experience working with chemsex and understand how substances can become part of survival strategies around shame, intimacy, and authentic connection.
Perhaps you're the person everyone comes to for support, but you can't remember the last time you felt genuinely seen. You've mastered being helpful, understanding, easy to be around - but underneath all that niceness, there's something else. Something more real.
This is a space where you don't have to filter yourself, explain your identity, or perform acceptability. You don't need to educate me about your experience or manage my reactions to your truth.

My approach is psychodynamic, which means we're interested in what's underneath. Not just what you do, but why you do it. Not just how you present to the world, but who you've had to stop being to survive.
I've been working with individuals for almost 12 years and am currently in personal analysis three times weekly and training in Couples Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at Tavistock Relationships.
We meet weekly for 50-minute sessions, either in person at my Croydon practice or online. This work requires courage - the courage to see yourself clearly, to feel things you've been avoiding, to risk being authentic instead of agreeable.
