LV Penman (Kings Cross)
About the Therapist
I am a queer counsellor offering in-person sessions near Kings Cross in London. I will work with you to help you gain a greater sense of freedom and possibility in life, and beter understand your feelings and experiences. We are affected by many things beyond our direct control. This could include experiences of marginalisation or discrimination. It could include experiences of abuse or trauma. Therapy can’t fix a broken world. But it can give you a time and space that’s just yours, where we can work together to explore whatever brings you to therapy. I won’t give you answers; together, we will look at things in new ways, explore patterns, and try out ways of interacting with the world that work for you. I might make suggestions, or share my thoughts at times. Through our work together, you can gain a greater sense of safety, explore what is in your control, and find ways to live with more meaning and creativity. Â

I am an integrative counsellor. This means that I use different approaches depending on your needs and what you bring to therapy. My queerness and feminism inform how I think and how I work. This means there is space in our work to examine how oppression and societal expectations function and the detrimental effect they can have. My practice is queer and trans-affirming, kink-positive and sex worker friendly. No matter what your gender or sexuality may be – or whether you are unsure about what they are -  I hope this space can be one where all parts of you are welcome, no matter what topics you want to discuss. During my training I worked as a voluntary counsellor at elop, a holistic wellbeing and counselling service for LGBTQIA+ people. I have experience in working with people who have brought many different things to therapy including: the impact of abuse; low self-esteem; self-harming; relationship difficulties; anxiety; exploring their gender or sexuality; life changes; trauma.  I offer a first session for £35 so we can meet and get a sense of what it wuld be like to work together. If you would like to book, please get in touch.
