Maemi Wyanet @ Blooming Ahead Psychotherapy
About the Therapist
My name is Maemi Wyanet, and I am an integrative psychotherapist. I am originally from Canada, and I can offer therapy in either English or French. I am a bisexual cis-woman from a mixed ethnic background (Indigenous and French Canadian) and emigrated to the UK in my early 20s. I am what some would call a "born-again Pagan"; my own way of emancipating from the Roman Catholicism of my upbringing.
- Bi- | Pansexual
I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with Counselling from The Open University and PGDip in Integrative Psychotherapy from the University of Lancashire, where I am continuing my studies to achieve my Master's degree in Psychotherapy.
I am a registered member (no. 418572) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

The type of therapy I offer is called 'integrative psychotherapy'. This means that I work with a careful blend of well-established psychotherapy approaches, rather than relying on a single method and expecting it to suit everybody. I start by building a solid, professional relationship with you, where you can feel that you are taken seriously and treated with respect. Together, we might explore how your past experiences may still be influencing your reactions and your relationships today, whilst also paying close attention to what is happening in your life right now (after all, therapy can't always be about blaming our mothers!) I will offer you a space where you can explore and begin to understand what is actually going on for you — how you think, how you react, and how your past experiences may still be shaping present-day emotional patterns, decisions, and relationships. My therapeutic approach will evolve with you as you make progress so that we can address what you need at different stages, with the ultimate aim of increasing your wellbeing and self-understanding and gaining more confidence in how you respond to life and to others.

I offer the following services:
New Client Meetings - a £25, 30-minute introductory session where we can discuss why you are seeking therapy and how we could work together. This gives you the opportunity to get a sense of what I am like before we dive in with a full session; working with a therapist you can feel comfortable with is so important!
Online Therapy Sessions - a £50 60-minute session delivered online via a fully-secured online platform (no need to download anything!). Therapy in the familiar and comfortable surroundings of your own home, regardless of where you are located geographically.
Face-to-Face Therapy Sessions - £60 - If you are located in or near Morecambe, Lancashire, I can also offer 60-minutes in-person psychotherapy sessions. Please contact me at contact@bloomingahead.com or call/text 07356 011900 to discuss availability.
