About the therapist:

I am a counsellor working from rooms in Hackney City Farm and in Holborn. I also provide counselling online. The largest part of my work is with Queer / LGBTQI+ clients. I believe that my own experiences as a queer person have given me strengths that contribute to my work as therapist more generally, so am pleased to be able to focus on this client group, as well as others living 'against the grain'.
I am committed to a trans-affirming, queer-affirming, anti-racist approach.
My working style draws primarily upon my training, experience and supervision with gestalt therapy. I am also trained in person centered counselling and transactional analysis. I draw on these according to each client's particular needs.

Experience and approach:

My core training is in humanistic counselling so I am trained in a range of approaches, but primarily practice using gestalt therapy. My approach is relational, in that the way that we relate is part of the material that can help bring about new awareness for you.
I have previously worked with two LGBTQ+ organisations (Switchboard and East London Out Project). I have had additional specialist training from Gendered Intelligence (on working with Trans, gender diverse and questioning people) and Pink Therapy (on shame and internalised oppression). I am a member of Gendered Intelligence's Network of Therapists.

Clients may wish to engage in therapy that is directed towards a particular concern, behaviour or experience. Others may wish to take a more explorative, open-ended approach. Both are well suited to my practices.
