About the Therapist
As a non-binary person who came out in their late 20's I have lived experience of some of the challenges folks may face when navigating their relationship with themselves and others (e.g. family, friends and colleagues). I have experience navigating relationships when others come out to you as LGBTQ+ and a deep understanding of the importance of trans acceptance and rights.
I understand the importance of having a therapy space where gender identity, sexual orientation, disability and neurodiversity is accepted, understood and only discussed if it relates to what has come up for you.
My background is in a large corporate workplace, so I have an understanding of the challenges this can present. I enjoy swimming, practice yoga and value being in nature.

I combine a range of approaches and techniques to best meet your needs at any given point in time during our therapy together. I will meet you with empathy and without judgement. I am mindful that everyone has relationships and life circumstances in which they are operating, so work with techniques that suit you.
Everyone is unique and so is their therapy, so if you have ideas about how you would like to work, this is something we can discuss. I adapt my approach to suit you; it is your therapy space.
I am drawn to working creatively so often utilise techniques such as using metaphor, drawing, collage, gentle movement, compassionate mindfulness and meditation. I am a compassionate and friendly professional who brings a sense of play and creativity to sessions but will tailor this to suit you on any given day.
I am passionate about difference and diversity and strive to be actively inclusive of everyone. I am happy to discuss any accessibility requirements you may have and will do my best to accommodate them. My in-person venue is step-free, has accessible toilets and disabled parking. It also has gender free toilets, which are self-contained cubicles.
All questions are valid and I realise there are lots of factors that go into feeling safe, especially when something is new and different.

Reaching out to a prospective counsellor can be challenging, especially if you are new to therapy. I therefore offer a free initial 15-minute phone conversation. This is open to anyone 18+, to talk about what brings you to counselling, how I work and for you to see if we would be a good fit.
I firmly believe in counselling being accessible to everyone so offer a limited number of places at concessionary rates. If I am unable to offer a concessionary rate initially I am happy to add your name to my waiting list. Please get in touch to discuss this further without obligation to choose me as your counsellor.
