Matty Sweet
About the Therapist
I started this practice in 2022 because I wanted therapy to feel accessible - not intimidating, not clinical, not like you need to already have the right words before you arrive.
I came to this work through my own life as much as my training. I know what it's like to carry things that feel too complicated to explain to someone who won't understand. That shapes how I show up with every person I work with.
My practice is built for thoughtful adults who may feel exhausted from masking, unsure whether they can be fully seen, or carrying experiences that continue to shape how they relate to themselves and others. If you've ever felt like you had to explain yourself before a therapist could help you - this is for you.
I'm also a family man, a devoted tennis fan, and a firm believer that a good coffee and something sweet can hold a difficult day together.

My work sits at the intersection of the relational and the real. I work with people in community settings living with serious mental illness, addiction, and identity challenges - and in private practice with adults who are ready to look honestly at what's getting in the way of the life they want.
I use an integrative approach, drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive behavioural practices depending on what the moment calls for. I also bring in body awareness, DBT skills, and transactional analysis - because the mind, body, and the patterns between people are never really separate.
What matters most to me is the relationship we build. I work at a pace that feels steady rather than pressured, with enough honesty to make it useful and enough warmth to make it bearable. If you're having a difficult day, we work in the seconds, minutes, and hours. That's always enough to start with.
