Maya Price
About the Therapist
I’m Maya (she/her), a neurodivergent trans woman and integrative therapist offering online sessions for trans and gender-diverse people (13+) and the wider LGBTQIA+ community. I take a down-to-earth, informal approach, creating a space where you can feel truly safe, seen, and heard. My work is person-centred and relational, with a focus on inner child healing and building deep trust in the therapeutic relationship. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you—it’s about exploring, understanding, and making space for all parts of you. Sessions are online, so you can access support wherever you are, at a pace that works for you. I also offer in-person sessions in Central Taunton for those local to the area.
In 2011, I co-founded Proud2Be, a Devon-based LGBTQIA+ organisation, alongside my twin sibling Max. Together, we’ve built a thriving organisation that supports hundreds of LGBTQIA+ young people and adults annually despite facing challenges such as the global pandemic and cost-of-living crisis. I have extensively worked with LGBTQIA+ people from all walks of life since 2012.
I earned my Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2019 after completing a three-year programme at Devon Counselling College. I have also undertaken comprehensive training in safeguarding, sexual health, mental health, anti-racism practice, and LGBTQIA+ awareness.

I’ve spent over 20 years working with LGBTQIA+ people, young people, and neurodivergent individuals, co-founding Proud2Be, a grassroots LGBTQIA+ organisation that supports hundreds of people each year. Alongside my therapy practice, I’ve worked in community development, safeguarding, and activism, always focusing on creating safe, affirming spaces.
A session with me is shaped around what works best for you. It might be talk-based and conversational, or we might explore inner child work, CBT worksheets, or online sand tray therapy. Some people find it hard to open up at first, and that’s okay—we can use the chat bar or work in a way that feels more comfortable. If you experience dysphoria or just prefer not to be on camera, that’s completely fine too. My aim is to create a space where you can explore, process, and heal at your own pace, with no pressure or judgment.

I offer a free 30-minute initial chat so you can get a feel for whether we’d be a good fit. My standard rate is £60 per 1-hour session, and I offer a concessionary rate of £50, with two reduced-rate slots available at a time. If these slots are full, I can add you to a waitlist for future availability. I also provide a discount for clients who book a package of 10 sessions.
I can also offer in-persons session in Taunton, Somerset.
Additionally, I offer a free 30-minute, no-pressure online consultation. This gives us a chance to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit before committing to ongoing sessions. It's important that you feel comfortable and confident in your choice of therapist.
