Milo Nass - Pink Penguin Counselling
About the Therapist
Hi there! I am Milo (they/them), a queer, trans nonbinary, neurodivergent counsellor working online.
I work a lot within LGBTQ+, enm/poly, kinky and neurodivergent communities. While I don’t exclusively work with these groups, creating an affirming space for people who might not always feel welcome in the world is really important to me. I believe counselling should be a space in which you can bring all of yourself and don't have to explain, justify or educate your counsellor on your identity or community. Through my own lived experience, I know how valuable it is to have a counsellor who just gets it, and I make an active effort to keep learning.
Everyone is different and what works for one person might not work for another. Counselling is a collaboration and I adjust my approach based on your needs and I'm happy to make accommodations and figure out what works best for us.
No matter if you're looking for a few sessions or something long-term, I'd be happy to work with you and support you along the way.
Whether you are looking to talk about identity, relationships, current or past experiences or other difficulties, you'll find a welcoming space with me where we can explore your thoughts and feelings together in a way that feels right for you.
I believe it is important to find a counsellor that feels right for you. That's why I offer a full 50-minute initial session at a reduced rate (£25). That way, we have time to get to know each other, you can get a feel for what our work together would feel like and decide if we want to work together.
If you think we might be a good fit and you'd like to book a first session or if you have any other questions, please reach out. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

My Approach
I don’t believe that “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to counselling. Everyone is different, which is why I adapt my way of working to suit each client’s needs.
At my core, I am person-centred, which means that I believe you know yourself best, and my role is to support you by providing a safe space where you can explore whatever feels important to you, free from judgment and at your own pace.
I believe it is important to find a counsellor who feels right for you. I see counselling as a collaborative process, where our relationship plays a key role in the work we do together. Relationships shape so much of our lives, and I strive to build a connection that feels genuine and meaningful with each of my clients. Trust is essential, so I will always be honest and open with you, and I won’t shy away from addressing anything that comes up between us. While I believe that challenges can be helpful, I offer them gently and welcome you to challenge me in return.
When helpful, I may also draw from other approaches, such as psychodynamic or creative techniques, to explore your thoughts and feelings from different angles.
My Experience
I have experience working with individuals from a range of backgrounds, including those who are neurodivergent or whose gender, sexuality or relationship styles don’t fit the mainstream (LGBTQ+, enm/poly, kink, etc.). My own lived experience allows me to connect on a more personal level and I approach these topics with sensitivity and empathy.
I understand that while people may share similar identities or experiences, underneath our experiences are all unique. I want to understand what it’s like to be you and am committed to creating a validation environment.
When working with neurodivergence (e.g. autistic, ADHD, bipolar or otherwise) I strive to make my sessions accessible and am adapting the way I work to my clients needs.
More generally, I have worked with clients facing anxiety, depression, issues around identity, relationship and family issues, workplace struggles, trauma, abuse and suicidal thoughts and a range of other concerns.
