About the Therapist
I decided to train as a therapist after volunteering at Switchboard, the LGBTQIA+ helpline. Speaking with callers who were questioning different aspects of their lives — whether it was their sexuality, gender, or their personal or professional relationships — deeply resonated with me.
I work with clients who are exploring the truths they’ve come to accept and often don't feel right. With empathy and honesty, I support them in arriving at decisions and changes they want to make in their lives. Therapy is a chance to explore the past, reflect on experiences and identify the changes and new directions.
Authenticity is central to my practice. I’m not here to judge or shame — and if you ever feel that happening, I encourage you to speak to me. The therapeutic relationship can reflect the relationships you have in the rest of your life. Exploring feelings that surface in the therapy room can help you reflect, review, and understand what might be going on in the outside world — and importantly, decide whether you want to take a different path.
We often minimise our experiences and feelings as we're not sure what to do with them. Holding on to what is important to you is difficult when you're in spaces that you don't feel you belong — trying to make your voice heard and trying to 'fit in' can and does have a negative impact on our mental and physical wellbeing. Therapy is the space for you to lay out what's troubling you - so you can decide on the next steps.
I offer a no-obligation 15 minute telephone or video conversation with you so you can get a feel for me and how I practice. There is no charge or obligation for this 'sounding out' conversation.

I am a somatically trained trauma therapist. I take a systemic approach to my work - believing that a client’s current circumstances is just as important as exploring their past experiences and relationships—because all of these can be directly connected to the challenges faced in the here and now.
Psychoeducation is a key part of my approach and I help clients make sense of specific events in their lives so they can better understand their behaviours and reactions. This process also helps them build resilience and develop greater self-awareness of how their body may be responding to situations.
I have a long history of volunteering with community organisations, particularly supporting marginalised and global majority communities. For many people in these groups, experiences of being made to feel different or othered can be frequent and can cause significant harm. In workplaces especially, incidents of prejudice or discrimination linked to race, culture, sexuality, gender, religion, or belief are often minimised or overlooked— despite the lasting impact they have.
Therapy provides a space to set aside the armour you wear to get through the week, speak openly about what you feel and ultimately, start to think about the future you want. I recognise that this can feel daunting and you may not be ready to take that step right away—and that’s okay.
Couples therapy
When working with couples - I focus on understanding the dynamics at play. These can involve current issues or past experiences, that can include family and previous relationships. These underlying patterns can impact how we interact and react.
A crucial part of couples therapy is establishing goals. Whether you're aiming to repair a strained relationship or explore the possibility of separation, the focus is entirely up to you both.
As a couples therapist, I'm here for the relationship. My role isn't to dictate how to have a "perfect" relationship. Instead, we'll work together - negotiating to develop strategies that resonate with you both; finding a better way of engaging.
