Oliver Fallon (Eating Disorders and OCD)
About the Therapist
You know yourself how intertwined issues with food and compulsive behavour, OCD and body image (BDD) can be. The good news is: you can recover. I will show you how to use techniques such as CBT with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) in a way that suits you. My emphasis is not only on your problems but in helping you to live a spiritually, culturally and socially rich life. We will work together on thought restructuring and behavioural change using graded exposure exercises (ERP). You can regain your freedom and live a life you never thought you could.
I offer specialist therapy for Eating Disorders, OCD, and BDD so you can live a healthier, happier life. I’m here to help you live your best life according to your values. In therapy we collaboratively cultivate a new vision for a richer, happier life. I see creativity as essential to recovery: it helps us unblock, grow and explore. I invite you to bring your whole self to therapy and fearlessly explore what it is to be human in this strange world of ours.
I believe there is a place within the therapeutic process for the arts, such as the use of imagery and metaphor, or bringing your favourite literature, film or art as points from which to start exploring how you see the world. I’m here to help you celebrate life in all its glory and its tragedy. When we’re in session together I hope I bring a rich warmth and curiosity to your story. I strive to hold your experience as precious and to treat it with sensitivity and nuance, and I hope you will feel safe to be your whole self in all its complexity. Let’s see what we can do to walk lighter through the world.
We all need a space where we can be supported and think and reflect. You may want to explore how your experiences have shaped how you are now and how you relate to those around you. Or you might want help with major life transitions, self esteem, harsh self-talk, fear, shame and guilt. Perhaps you have a sense of something undefineable being off, and you would like to dig a little deeper, or maybe a lot deeper. You may have a poor relationship with your body, particularly with how you look. You can change that by changing the way you think about your body, by changing the kind of attention you give it and by changing the way you see yourself as a person. If that is what you want, I promise to work with you with the greatest care to make that happen. Whatever you bring, I’m committed to making sure you feel respected, seen and heard. No matter what comes up, I will be beside you in full acceptance, bearing witness and providing support.
If you’d like to do this, please reach out to arrange a (free) 20-30 minute call so we can each find out a bit more about each other and how we might best work together. It’s an honour and a privilege for me to walk with you on your journey to a healthier, happier life.
I'm based in Bethnal Green, East London, just by Victoria Park. I can also do video sessions when you can't make in person. Your first step is a free 30 min assessment by phone or video so we can get to know more about each other and how we might best work together.
