About the Therapist
While therapy is very much about you, it's important for me to be upfront about with you my own experiences.
On many occasions, I've sat in the opposite chair as the client, receiving therapy, to work through my own issues such as ADHD, alcohol dependency (4 years sober!), workplace homophobia, and burnout.
I've sat where you are, and I experienced the internal changes that can happen in therapy, just when I thought there was no future. This led to me quitting my job, going to a detox, and retraining in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I understand the importance of making sense of our worlds, being more comfortable in our bodies, and living a life that's more in line with who we really are... and I think everyone has the power, potential, and right to do just that.

I integrate five models of therapy, so instead of just listening to your problems and nodding along, I weave in elements of these different approaches to help you understand yourself better and work through the things that are affecting your day-to-day life.
Life is really difficult for us at the moment. It's difficult for our community, and some days it feels like we're not safe. It's an unnerving place to be and iIt's important to take this into account during your therapy. Whether you're dealing with ADHD, coming out, family or relationship issues, trauma, or whatever it is, all of these things can be impacted or worsened by our society, and the wider world.
Our early childhood experiences and attachment styles can shape how we live and relate to others in our present lives, and I believe exploring these, alongside the issues you're going through, is fundamental to therapy.
Alongside this, I introduce practical techniques to help soothe and regulate your nervous system when unexpected moments threaten to hijack your mind, helping you rebuild your confidence and ease low mood. This is all wrapped up in that safe and trustworthy space I mentioned earlier; everything is confidential (unless there's a serious risk of harm) and held within the ethical guidance set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
By connecting these five models, and applying the best and most relevant parts of them to the stuff that you're going through, it means you benefit from an approach completely tailored to you.
