About the Therapist
As an Integrative Relational Psychotherapist my work is grounded is the feminist principles of equality, empowerment, intersectionality and social justice. During the last 13 years I have worked in women only and LGBTQIA+ spaces providing individual counselling to people who have experienced domestic abuse, childhood sexual abuse, emotional neglect and trauma. I have extensive experience working with bereavement and loss having worked as a Counsellor in a Bereavement service for many years.
I tailor my theoretical knowledge, clinical experience and therapeutic skills to find a collaborative way of working with you in order to identify the heart of the issue(s) that you bring to therapy.
We all go through periods when life seems to lose its meaning, we may feel out of sync with ourselves and others. Â You may feel lonely, anxious, depressed and not know why or where these feelings come from. Â You may be worried about your relationships, your sense of identity or your family life.
Sometimes memories from the past, painful events in the present, and/or worries about the future can accumulate to make it difficult to cope with everyday life and leave you feeling overwhelmed. Â Talking about it in therapy can really help.
Whatever brings you to therapy, I offer you a warm, safe, empathetic, non-judgemental, confidential space to explore, identify and resolve your issues. Â I will support you by enabling you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships and your life so that you can feel more empowered to make positive, life enhancing changes.
I will work collaboratively with you to help you gain insights and direction. Â I recognise the experience of each individual I work with. Â I will treat you with respect and integrity without making assumptions based on sexual orientation, identity, class, disability, race, or gender.
