I am a queer cis gendered therapist with over 10 years of experience supporting LGBTQIA+ clients.In the increasingly unsafe world I can offer a safe space to process your experiences and together we can explore ways of being and becoming who you are and how you want to be in the world.

Whether you are looking for short-term, goal-oriented work; and through long term work reaching more in-depth, and looking at ourselves as a whole. I have an understanding of a variety of challenges people can face, but my approach is always to look for your unique experience of the difficulties you are facing.

Intersectionality and a deep understanding of how oppressive environment can shape our personal experiences and relationships underlines my own way of being including therapy.

Experience and approach:

My therapy style is called Integrative. Integrative means that I have a rich theoretical background, which allows me to approach every client as a unique individual and tailor my work to their needs. The models I currently base my work on are TA, CBT, Psycho-dynamic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, Relational and Person-Centred Psychotherapy. Frankl's Existential Psychotherapy has been an interest of mine since my psychology studies. At the core of all the therapy schools is the relationship between the client and the therapist. That means that being able to trust each other, share experiences and walk the journey alongside each other is the founding stone of change. And it is my goal to create this relationship with you, my client. Most of therapy work is spoken. Sometimes we may focus on what is happening for you in your body, work creatively or move around.

When we meet for an initial session, I will ask you questions about various areas of your life, and about why you are coming to see me. We will discuss how our sessions are going to work and how we can move towards what you want. We will regularly review our work together and discuss our progress. Counselling and Psychotherapy can be a different experience for every one of us. For some it is about a safe and non-judgemental space, where it's OK to speak about difficult topics and express yourself freely. Others appreciate directness, openness of communications and a challenge to their set ways of being. Often we look at what is happening in the here and now, and use our experience together to look at how you relate with others outside the therapy room.
