PHIL SHAW
About the Therapist
Having trained in both Psychodynamic and Person Centred practice, I use both approaches relative to what I feel a person requires and will benefit most from. In this way, I am a slightly different therapist for each and every person I work with - meeting them and their needs anew each time. The relationship that is formed within the work is similarly unique and empowering.

I have experience in addressing a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, family dynamics, autism, trauma, and matters related to sex, gender, and sexuality.
My approach involves understanding each person’s experiences from their unique perspective, allowing me to meet them with acceptance, empathy, and curiosity. When appropriate, I also gently challenge clients to encourage deeper reflection and new ways of thinking about their experiences.
I work in person within Edinburgh and online for any one based elsewhere in the UK.
