Piers Wilson - Embark Therapy UK
About the Therapist
As a Person-Centred therapist, creating a safe, accepting environment where you feel increasingly comfortable and confident in exploring your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours is what I am here for. Together, we will work collaboratively to cultivate a trusting relationship built on mutual respect.Â
The Person-Centred Approach emphasises genuine understanding of one's outer (social context) and inner complexities that influence our being as a whole. It also emphasises awareness, clarity, and acceptance, with the intention of promoting self-empowerment, discovery of your inner self, and fostering personal growth. Â This may not be an easy journey, yet I am here willing to work with you. By facilitating your own process and tapping into your inner resources, I strive to ensure that you feel genuinely supported, seen, heard, and valued as you embark on your journey of self-discovery and healing. My first experiences of counselling others have been within the NHS, where I helped cultivate a secure and nurturing environment conducive to introspection and emotional exploration, facilitating personal growth through a flexible and empathetic approach. I have continued with the NHS, as well as with my own private practice 'Embark Therapy UK', within the North London Therapy Practice community. Â I am passionate about fostering inclusivity and diversity, and proficient in addressing the varying complexities of each unique individual. Â I have experience providing essential support to individuals facing a variety of challenges, including LGBTQ+, identity, trauma, PTSD, bereavement, OCD, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, work-related stress, loneliness, and more.
