About the Therapist
I am a gestalt psychotherapist and counsellor. My background is in clinical psychology and neuroscience. I am a graduate of the Gestalt Centre London and Metropolitan University (MA in Gestalt Psychotherapy - individual and group therapy). In addition to my private practice, I have been actively involved in the work of many different Gestalt organisations and training institutes in the UK and abroad. I am a former board member of The Gestalt Centre, where I am now a visiting tutor.

My particular interest lies in attending to the unique ways in which we relate to our own bodies, bodies of other people and to events in our lives. I learned to understand any symptom, be it somatic distress or unwanted behaviour, as representing something important about a client that needs to be attended to in therapeutic relationship.
My theoretical approach is Gestalt therapy – an experiential investigation of how we function in the world, and how to function more in tune with our nature.   The purpose of Gestalt therapy is not to force change but instead – to create conditions conducive for the change to happen. I foster development of trusting and honest relationship between my clients and myself. I am not defining how they have to be, although I might have some ideas as I experience them relating with me. Still, the authority for choices they make remains with the clients.
I see my role as a therapist to facilitate curiosity and deepen the clients’ awareness of what is going on that keeps them stuck, unhappy and suffering.  I support the clients to get in touch with their natural ability to orient and self-regulate, so they can navigate their life with more confidence and satisfaction.
I have considerable training in body therapy, couples and group therapy.  Over the years I have acquired extensive experience of therapy with gender, sexuality and relationship diverse clients, in particular those who also are part of another minority because of their race, language, culture, or were born outside of the UK.  Having worked as a counsellor for London Friend and East London Out Project (ELOP) for many years, I gained the skills to support those affected by prejudice, oppression and intolerance.
I work with couples whatever their sexual orientation and relationship preference. Over the years, I have worked with many same sex couples, each unique and with their own challenges and goals. Â My aim has always been to support both partners equally as they work through their issues.
